Elton John sings the songs, Bernie writes them, however in this case Tim Rice wrote the song I believe!

The song is tricky to understand, luckly I figure it out:

There's a calm surrender to the rush of day > The busy day has ended and it is time to head home

When the heat of a rolling world can be turned away > All the heat (pressure) of the world has stopped so they can spend time together after a busy day.

An enchanted moment and it see's me through > romance begins to happen and it is successful for them

It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you > he/she has been waiting all day, feeling anxious, just to spend time with eachother

And can you feel the love tonight, it is where we are > love is where we are

It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer that we got this far > it is enough for this person who is looking at the other person intensly in the eyes in amazement that they made it that far

And can you feel the love tonight, how it's laid to rest > the night is over, sleep time, the romantic evening is over

It's enough to make kings and vagabonds, believe the very best > love is equal to the best kinds of people, so believe the very best that you will find what you are looking for

There's a time for everyone if they only learn, that the twisting kolidascope moves us all in turn > people have to learn that there time will come, the Earth is a twisting kolidascope and our turns to fall in love comes randomly

There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors when the heart of this star-crossed voyager beats in time with yours > there is a reason why our time comes when it comes, it'll all make sense when the heart of you soulmate beats in time with yours...

That is what I got from it...it may be wrong, but it sounds right...and btw, restless warrior is from this song, I just thought it sounded like a cool username...lol

The "kings and vagabonds" line really makes this song, to me -- along with "restless warrior" and "wide eyed wanderer". I like the way you parsed the last 2, but am still curious about "kings and vagabonds" ...
