Stanza starting with "Last night I dreamt... " is awesome. What Matty teaches me there --- is that when you learn to hold your own hand in love, you can hold others' hands and wear your crown of willow branches. The turning into Matty is because that love is inside you all along, in the veins of your hands like the veins in the leaves.

Chance and beauty won't run away as long as you touch the truths of trees inside you. That's where the ideal worlds live too, very close, as close as you want to keep them. The 'ideal worlds' remind me so much of Mick and Keith: 'Lose your dreams and you will los your mind. Is life unkind?'

The song also tells me that I can't have a true appreciation of ideal worlds unless I can contrast it with sorrow and loneliness. Since those two can [and do] come at any age, time-lessly, so can love, as your heart and the willow's heart are always interchangable... again, time-lessly.
