i can also see this as a break up song were one person still cares about the other, but the other person has moved on. Thus the reason its killing one inside and they can't really tell "her" how they feel. You have to pretend that you have let it go even if you haven't.
but it can be interpretted in both ways...just liking someone so much but not being able to let them know cause you don't think they even notice you at all
