When he says "If all you are is a little confused, then all your sins are excused
That's what you thought, well didn't you?"
What if that is meaning as if you think you believe in God and know about Jesus and you were a little "confused" about it since you never paid much attention to it and thought your sins would be "excused" anyways. If you get what I am trying to say. And that follow up line, "That's what you thought, well didn't you?" is like saying that's what you though and it's saying it in a way as if he is saying "Thats what you thought, right, think again." In that same tone.
