"I'm on assignment for the FBI, " leads me to believe that this is actually a cop making a confession of the numerious terrible things your bound to see on duty. This also supports the "you can't believe the things I've seen..."
Zombie outbreak. Even though non of the lyrics support this.. It always lingers in the back of my head. he talks about horrors.. And the repetitive ending "all alone in a big white house.." brings out feelings of isolation and survival. I keep thinking about the movie "Diary of the dead" if any of you have seen that...

The song has so much meaning to someone that is a zombie lover. I can understand how it confused most people. And yes - when the song did come out with the Left 4 Dead game, it 'should've' gave away the major clue.
