it's no coincidence[it was meant/bound/obvious for it to happen]
the lights are on and everybody's home[everytime casualties are reported, everybody rushes home to make sure that it's not THEIR son who got themselves killed]
The only thing suicidal here is the door[hmm. i'm wondering if that's referencing the door or 'opportunity' of war, and how daft and stupid that would be when there's a better 'door' waiting to be opened]
