The lyrics describe certain aspects of the storyline for the concept album "Lifehouse" I think the lyrics are from both characters "Bobby" and "Jumbo" point of view.
"Both think we know what's right, Both Know we know whats wrong" really sums it up. especially since "Behind Blue Eyes" is Jumbo's theme where he describes how hard it is to be trying to do what you believe is right, only to have it criticized by some who disagree.
