This song is about the summer where Bradford, who was 16, spent months in the hospital recuperating from surgeries to treat his Marfan's Syndrome. He was only allowed to eat ice chips because anything else would shock his system. The girl next to him had contracted E. coli or something else and was screaming and screaming in terrible pain.
