Honestly I think he's talking about himself...whether he will admit it or not. Creating another reality to escape this one...but it doesn't seem to help.
It's like, life is the girl ripping the wings from the butterfly
it's broken but its still trying to survive somehow but its' losing faith.
a metaphor for himself...and people.
My favorite line is "cover scars with scars" that's life, isn't it?
