Edward pushed her: pushed her boundaries and her expectations, pushed her buttons, pushed her to her limits emotionally and especially every time he pushed her away against his will and hers. It’s an utterly addictive dynamic to their relationship. Their relationship blossomed & he was inexplicably drawn to her even though he could of have had anyone he wanted and he chose this regular, unordinary human, Bella.
At the end of Twilight, she asked him to never leave her and he promised. In New Moon, he goes against his promise. He wanted to protect her but even with him gone, Bella cant shake his gravitational pull he has on her!
