welll in my opinion it sounds like this song is about a couple who broke up before eaither of them were ready. now they wanna get back together but don't know how, they "can't do nothing; gotta do something" and theres "no use pretending they're all right" and now that they've put it off for so long, its gonna be hard getting bak together because now there's "too many barriers" they've created between each other
