I think she's talking about trying not to be jealous of other people 'cause they're with someone she wants, because she thinks they have more than her. she doesn't want to be possessive of the person.
I'm clueless about the title though. any ideas on reasons, other than it containing a piano?
I guess her songs ARE pretty vague, but it looks like everyone's got a common understanding of what the songs about... so perhaps not so vague? anyway, I agree with the whole loneliness/jealousy issue, but I can relate this song more to my dad being away overseas...

"Well I try so hard not to notice
I try so hard not to care
I try so hard not to know that you're not here"

It might just be the the type of person that I am that makes me feel the way she's describing, but I guess...

@nemu,
My idea for the reasoning behind the name of the song is that maybe, like she says, she's trying so hard not to care and to show this side of her, so giving it a simple, straightforward, and more or less surface title is a reflection of her not wanting to draw so much attention to the real issues she's dealing with. Even though it's her song and it's a personal thing, there's a level of control she has over what she reveals, and what she really is meaning to say.
her songs are so vague, but awesome.
