I agree with def_linus on that it's about having lost touch with a friend . Neither of the two have really stayed in touch, which you can blame on the other person or on yourself. You might start out blaming yourself, but then realize that the other person hasn't stayed in touch with you either. Or maybe you did try to keep in touch, but gave up because your attempts didn't have any effect. This could also make you feel that, eventhough you care, there's no use in arguing about it, it's just not worth the the trouble since you've already tried to make it work and didn't succeed. Besides, arguing might not even solve anything at all. So you just grin and bear it.
To me it seems that the "it" is just losing the friendship.
Also, i think these are the correct lyrics:
So far i've not really stayed in touch
Well you knew as much it's no surprise that today
I'll get up around two from a lack of anything to do
And I might as well just grin and bear it
Because it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And you have not really stayed in touch
Well I knew as much it's no surprise that today
I get up for round two with nothing to do
Except get a touch of flu
And I might as well grin and bear it
Because it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case i'd rather wear it
It's like a badhead in the morning
And I know
And I might as well grin and bear it
Because it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case i'd rather wear it
It's like a badhead in the morning
And I might as well grin and bear it
Because it's not worth the trouble of an argument
And in any case i'd rather wear it
You're like a badhead in the morning
(changes:
early too->around two (3rd line)
It's -> You're (last line)
