I get the feeling this about not really knowing really the society you come from. I mean, I catch the bus pretty much every morning and every evening, I see the same people getting on and off and I feel familar with them and I'm comfortable with that. However, personally I'd get 'frightened' (in the sense of the song-'leave me alone, I'm perfectly safe here inside') if it ever became more than familar strangers on a bus. I get the feeling that the other people would feel the same too :/
It's the sense that we all just want to get by without disturbances in our routines.
