Wow, I got something totally different. I didn't take it as her saying that she feels just as good or safe sober as she does drunk. I took it as her asking- Hey, how can I feel safe with out drinking? Is it possible for me to feel as good as I do when I’m drunk without paying the consiquences of abusing alcohol?
It's not so much a song about being in love, or breaking up, or any of that bull shit its about what comes at the inbetween moments where you wonder if you'll ever not be a fuck up. The times when you are left to your own devices and have to get to know your self. Question yourself if you are strong enough or lucky enough to find inner peace and strength with out drugs or alcohol, or even a lover.
I think it’s more about just wanting to stand on your own two feet and learn how to support your own weight with out a crutch- which is in this case alcohol.
