I think its pretty self explanatory. He was at a party or something the night before and got with this girl that he has had some feelings for. This girl was already with somebody at the time, but they got drunk and slept together. He is singing this as he is waking up in the morning next to her.
He admits to knowing she has someone else, but he is admitting to her how he feels and wants her to compare the two of them becaus ehe knows he can be better for this girl.
