To me, it seems that its about people lying about who they are in order to stay with each other. They have great love for each other but in that they lost themselves. And coming clean about everything destroys that life they built for themselves.
When a life is built on lies, what quality of life does one truly have...and for how long? "Coming clean" is about honest with others and oneself. It's about growing up, maturing emotionally, learning skills to flourish, and taking risks, which are always interesting. How boring it is to settle. How boring it is to give up oneself, to give up on long-range goals, and to keep doing the same action over and over again but expecting a different result. People lie to GET people into their lives.
