I think this is about a couple and their relationship was going great. But something happened (I'm thinking one of them went on tour) that kind of broke them apart. And the other person in the relationship felt alone. So they tried resolving their problems over the phone. But it didn't work and they were going to leave their problems "on the line" (line=phone line).
