This song seems to continue onwards from "In the Beginning" with lines like "It came to pass that solid rock did part for humble life." A testament to the strength of life. The life that the father and son were so happy to eagerly await apparently clears up confusion, disappointment, fear, and disillusion - no wonder they were happy about it! (Is Life, then, the place where things are in better focus from "Where the Sour Turns to Sweet?") Unfortunately, confusion sets in with the lyric "the father's sad to see it's free." Does this reference "the water" that slips in to the sea, or "the future" seen clearly at it's dawning, or what? Also - a lot of bands of this period also spoke of the dawn. the Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" or Pink Floyd's "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" taken by Syd Barrett from "The Wind in the Willows." At this point in our concept album, life and nature's creatures have come to face the world...
