first comment. woot. So far this song(well the whole album)has been my favorite. Everything plays off eachother so well in this song. Kyo's singing also adds a haunting melody to the instruments, it's just so awesome. For what's it about, I can hazard a guess, but it's about trying to continually try to grasp something that's so far high above you, just to plummet bcak down to start over. Just a guess if anyone wants to build off of it ^^
As for the meaning, I'm pretty sure it's yet another song about abortion, following wuit with 'Mazohyst of Decadence' and 'Obscure'.

"Even the love that is locked inside the shell is swallowed by the heartless beast"

The "love" being the product of sex, the baby, is "swallowed by the heartless beast", the mother who aborted it.

"What makes them do it?
I put my hand on my heart
The baby’s first cry disappears with yesterday"

Why do people abort their children? "The baby's first cry disappears with yesterday" likely means that the baby didn't even have a chance to cry.
"It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?"
The baby didn't have a say in what happened to it, and the second line probably means that the mother didn't get any freedom from aborting because she now she's confined by guilt.
"Everything gets twisted
Deep into the red darkness"
The baby well... dies in the red darkness that is the womb of the mother.
"This life I hold high and proud..."
I guess this is like saying he's lucky he hasn't been aborted, or it could also be a sarcastic statement saying that their life isn't as high and proud as it once was.
I think the "high & proud" line could mean he feels comfort knowing that if he were in the shoes of whoever he's singing of, he'd endure whatever he had to, no matter how inconvenient it was. I hope that makes sense. o.0
