This song has some rad guitaring! Whilst there does seem to be some mention of religion "To prove whose God wields all the power", I think it is mostly about society being falsely led to believe what governments want them to.
Just my two cents (dbro46) - you can blame Jesus all you want for wars but his word instructed peace and love towards one another. Horrible things were done by "christians" during the crusades but this in reaction to (if I remember correctly) losing land to Muslim invaders (the crusades did not even manage to reclaim this back) and caused by religious leaders abusing their political power and telling soldiers that they would be forgiven of all sin if they fought.
Sure, religion can give reason to go to war for some, but so can food, freedom and human equality. You don't really hear people bitching about these though do you?
