sorry to rain on the metaphorical parade, but I would like to actually discuss the meaning of this song. I heard that this song is actually about a gig in which the band was forced off stage because of a barage of projectiles (bottles, trash, ect.) hence the name: ballroom (where they performed) blitz (the attack on the band) could be wrong, as this only explained the chorusessseses, not the soft-spoken parts: Oh it's been getting so hard
Living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
that's my take, at least.
i was listening to it one day, and i thought the guys that writ it would of been boys in 1945 hence the beat of it, like if you heard stompin at the savouy the beat its gota 40s beat with rock to it wich makes it a classic as it is today, and in ww2 thats were they had dances at a ballroom, i could be totally wrong but thats my perception of it, and my 15yr old grandson loves it he said the drumming is cool haha!!!
