This song is definitly about texas, but it is interpretable. It's definitly not about a boy, but it could be about a boy she misses in a place. The fact that she is refering to 'lonestar'-texas, as something in the nightsky, means that there is some meaning beyond just texas. I agree with you all, she misses texas, but its not dark in new york city compared to anywhere in texas, so there is clearly something else going on. Its such a short song that A) we cant guess what she means and B) it can mean whatever we want and be correct. for me, it reminds me of a long distance relationship i had with someone in dallas when i was living in philadelphia.
