I also believe david is having a conversation with jesus at the end of the song, jesus says, "Oh I've got to keep you away from making bad decisions" and david replies, "oh you're just a baby, jesus!" ;;; Consequently, the same applies if you look at it like jesus is spiteful and tells david to keep his own ways from making bad decisions (which is nothing, considering hes smoking and swimming) and david calls him a baby :p
