The first time I heard this song I couldn't control my emotion. And to this day, when this song plays, I react the same way. There are certain songs I hear and Biblical passages read or played out in film (or live on-stage) that cause an overflow of emotion from me. Most usually have to do with the character of Christ or the punishment He endured so that you and I will NEVER have to. There are billions of people in the world today that will tell you that they do not understand the Holy Bible in it's written context. Therefore, I totally believe it is important that the Word of God be "translated" in a way that everyone can understand. From the early childhood to elderly. And it seems as though I am not alone. Many musicians and lyricists are releasing songs in which their lyrics are institued as a modern-day translation of the "Words of Christ in RED (as most modern translations of the Bible will have)." Examples of this technique are the above talked about song, as well as "This Blood" by Carman, "Love Song" by Third Day, and "Savior," "The Last Night," and "Whispers In The Dark" by Skillet. The lyrics to each of these songs serve as perfect examples of the life that Christ lived, His character, and a modern translation of the words He used to reach those that were alive when He walked the earth in human form. I know that when I stop long enough to hear His "still, small voice" speak to me, He talks to me in a way I understand, usually as if I'm thinking or "talking" to myself or as if my biological father were talking to me.

As you read these lyrics or listen to this song, or any of the others I have listed, try to envision Christ Jesus speaking to YOU as an individual. Especially if you are "lost." Perhaps you've never been able to understand a single verse of the Word of God. Jesus is STILL speaking to you. He's still calling out to you. He LOVES YOU NO MATTER WHAT 'RECORDED LINES' you feel can't be erased! Know that you have no eraser powerful enough to erase the sins of your past. God has EVERYTHING you've ever done recorded. All the good things you've done. All of the bad things you've done. And He will remind you of your past and these 'recorded lines' when He calls your name to step-up and face eternity at the Great Throne Judgement (YES, it's TRUE). The only problem with this is that if you have NOT accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, proclaimed the FACT that He is the ONLY begotten Son of God THE FATHER to others, that Jesus DIED on a cross at Calvary to pay YOUR debt so you will NEVER have to, believed that after three days He arose from the cryptic grips of death and the grave, and knew inside your heart and soul that ALL of these things ARE fact, the good things you've done in your life WILL NOT matter. NONE of them. As an unsaved person you are forced to spend ETERNITY in the pits of hell. And don't even think you're living in hell right now because you CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE what HELL is! If there was even a remote possibilty that you could withstand living in or through HELL for ONE nano-second of your earthly life, God would have never sent His ONLY begotten son to DIE so that you would NEVER have to face hell!
Yet, through all of this, there is an "eraser" powerful enough, that STILL exists, that can erase all of the lines God has recorded and give you a new slate. EVERYTHING done before will be erased and forgotten by God. After all, He is the ONLY one that all of these things matter. The BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST will remove all things you've been accountable for from God's memory. The notebook from your previous life will be washed clean and buried in the "Sea of Forgetfulness." At that moment, God will pull out a Book that He keeps always at the ready. And this time, instead of writing EVERTHING you do in it, He will only take one line and write, with a crimson-inked pen, YOUR NAME. Immediately after, He'll close the "Lambs Book of Life" and keep it at the ready for those that come after and make the same decision you made. So, let the music and the "Words and Character of Jesus Christ speak to and move you.
