This song is so powerful i think, my take on it is a boyfriend who has been left by his girlfriend, contemplating suicide. i dont think it has anything to with a flight or travel, but with passing to the afterlife. he starts by the window, which offers him an 'opportunity' to end the way he feels, to fly away from the feelings he is suffering now by ending his life.
