The funeral parts arent being used as a metaphor, its like Nitescreen said, its for either her wedding or her funeral. which it is doesn't matter. I do think that the first verse is supposed to sound more like a wedding and the second is supposed to sound more like a funeral, but he wrote it so that it would work for either.
