"If I'm to fall
Would you be there to applaud
Or would you hide behind them all"
I thought of a better way to describe the impression I get from that line.
It's like it's no longer just two brothers and one is making fun of the other, which is alright because that's what brothers do and it means they've got a certain closeness. But that relationship becomes polluted by all of the world that is now a part of it. So it's not just two brothers in a room, one making fun of the other for failing, now it's like it's one brother and the whole world making fun of the other. And I don't even mean it's like they're ganging up on him, but it's like there isn't that close private relationship between them, there are crowds of people invloved. That's the image I get from that line anyway.
