I think this song is about a boy who likes a girl and she says she likes him too, but she's never quite sure if she wants to be with him. Sometimes she likes him a lot and sometimes she doesn't. And since she's never sure eventually she says that they should move on...
She's afraid of commitment, but in his mind and everyone elses they might as well already be together. "Why are you still saying we won't when we already are." And he knows he has to move on but doesn't want to...He used to be cautious, but lately he hasn't cared about getting hurt because of her.
I think in the end he knows he'll be fine without her...even though he does want her.

i think the so young and insane is more of a statement about being in "love" at a young age. It obviously won't last forever and its kind of "remember when we were young and stupid/naive moment" i think its a great lyric tho.
