I have heard this song many times - love it by the way - but I had never thought much about it. I was listening to it recently, and in particular, the lines:
"She found a mountain that was far too high,
And when she found out she couldn’t fly,
It was too late."
After hearing those lines again, I immediately thought of suicide. The notion of an individual heading down this dark, lonely path is reflected in the line "it was too late," with death being the end. No chance left to save "her."
