I feel that the composer of this song is asking temptation to come towards him because like TracerAdvanced said, it's always gonna be there in this life. But what I disagree with is to flee from temptation. Instead of fleeing from it, I believe you should make the right choice and conquer it. James 4:7 says "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." so it is important to submit yourself to God first, then resist the devil and he will flee from you. Idk I may be wrong on this but I hope it is right. I don't think that you should run away from every situation but stand strong and defeat the temptation that comes your way. Romans 8:37 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
What you're saying is completely and totally right...There IS a line that you draw though... Like Joseph fled from the appearance of evil which means you don't go walk into a bar and be like "God, I know you're gonna help me overcome these temptations" because that's just retarded...
But if temptation comes TO us then yeah we need to fight it....
I just wanted to show the difference... a lot of people think that if temptation comes to them then they must be doing something wrong... When really it just means that we're doing good and the devil is mad at...
