He very blatant in the lyrics the song is clearly about someone who was a romantic interest and he had put his whole heart and trust into that person and that person was very deceptive and manipulative.
The most impressive lyric in this song is:

Think about all the asinine bullshit you see or put up with everyday and the one thing you trust the most is what eventually brings you to your knees.....
