With that said, I think it's obvious that slug is touching on the exploration of "her". She's a head-case, she's complicated, she's experienced a lot, and so has he. There were others who tried to explore "her". And it seems like Slug feels like he is going to be the one to conquer this mission. He is going to "take his time and find the right way to climb". And once he encounters the obstacles he'll "cut through trees, and ride through rocks".
