im just guessing that this means that he would give up everything just for his girl. that she means more then everything.

he was going to spend his life with her, and the ring is in his pocket so hes still thinking about her or else he would have returned it. and hes loosing his smile cause he is sad DUH but it kinda sounds like he knew it would happen and that he regrets it, when he says why did i do this to myself? like he set himself up for all of it.

hes looking at everyone and seeing how happy they are and how much they remind him of how him and his girl use to be, and saying it was heaven but now that its over its hell.
