i agree with NGTohmaSeguchi, it's about a person who is in pain and has to hold on, every day, it sounds like a depression to me, also because he feels guilty about everything wrong in his life. and this person is saying that he/she could end it right now, commit suicide, but something keeps holding him and doesn't let him give up. i feel it like inside, though he knows he will never be happy, he still has some really weak hope that maybe that's not true, because even if all the chances are against him, it doesn't end to be impossible, and so he keeps holding to that little hope he has, and keeps fighting.
