simon wrote this when he was high man. thats why its all like poetry, and doesn't particularly make sense.
there are parts when i think he remnisces about previous times he's been high and bad things have come of it:
"fondness can escalate beyond my repair"
potential relationship turned into a one night stand?
"happiness is coated in a mindless kicking..."
perhaps he was mugged while high- i know i've been kicked on the floor when i was high... fuckers broke my wrist....
"Kill your bizarre mindset, fuckhead, soldered to a three-layered concrete brainwave castration"
elaborate subtext- i honestly think if you read into this song it's about him smoking pot and the conflict he has with his girlfriend.
