A different story is told in the second verse, meaning the chorus cannot be referring to only the first. When he sing Your love is a fast song, he singing to God. Don't know if y'all know this but Aaron is christian. The song is NOT about how love isn't what it used to be. It's about how love is not what God intended it to be. "What has love become? It's not like we used to hear in those old songs, and it's not like YOURS!!!" He is talking to God. Personally, I look at this song as one of worship, and it's amazing.
