I know this is a cover song... but I like her version better so... To me, this song is basically about wanting someone that in theory is 'close' to you, or 'you have', but in reality you don't. You want the person so bad... but you know you can't have them. And once you realize that it's pointless, you try to move on before you're left heartbroken... but the plan gets washed away as soon as you see them, and once again, your left dreaming about something thats untouchable. So, like I said... in theory, this person is yours... and once you tell them that you can't just live with half a relationship and they don't feel the same way back they way they should, they tell you its not true.
