i think the last part of the song is a sort of plea to the former vocalist, or at least lets the fans know that they know where they're headed without him.
"imposters on the fast track to public execution"
they, or at least the writer, probably realized where the band was headed after the loss and rearrangement of members. they lost a nice chunk of their fan base, public execution.
i'm not going to interpret the entire song word-for-word, i just feel it's safe to assume that the depressing future of the band is the idea of this song.
