I think this song is pretty straight forward in its meaning. About some possible criminal who was shot down by police without a fair trial. Its pretty well a protest song against gun violence i think. Saying how "With a loaded gun in our hands...we can decide the fate of a man" meaning that anyone who owns a gun has too much power
The most moving lyric to me would have to be "He was his mother's one and only son" and " the message to his mother read, sorry but your son is dead". Very sad really. Although maybe he deserved it? does anyone deserve it?
That guy didnt deserve it, No-one deserves to die if he is inocent. He was an inocent man running for the train to get home to his wife, the English police had no right to shot him, they could have just stoped him and search him but they shot him in cold blood, I dont know how they can sleep at night. Just because he fitted the profile doesnt mean he needed to be shot, and the profile wasnt that describtive!
