I was devastated to see a band which I hold in such high esteem, both musically and lyrically, put out a song which casts the events of 911 in such a xenophobic and acquiescent manner, especially in light of the politically subversive nature of much of their previous work. This song, musically awesome as it is, presents the horrific events of 911 as an attack on the American people without any critical engagement with the reasons for the attack and the possibility of its falsity and/or inauthenticity.
