OK, I'll try to control myself. It would sound like hyperbole to say this is the most meaningful song I have ever heard, but I admit it must be. After my mother died about 5 years ago, depression and disillusionment ensued. Several things sustained me and "Lonely" was formost among them. Night after night, I would set it to play over and over as I would go to sleep. Somehow, the idea that lonliness was not an end in itself but a pointer to our capacity and potential, found a home in my grief. Even the idea of a grand designer at work - the lonliness indicating something greater, bigger is in store resonates as true. And the limits of self, i.e. dreams, wishes and vision are eclipsed by the "hope of the heart" where if you look closely, you glimpse rarely that infinite potential. "Might be" is everything that I am not. A stunning DW masterpiece!
