I LOVE this song. I always love it when songs use the forever young concept. It seems to me as if the girl in the song is moving on and growing up, while the singer (William) isn't ready to do that just yet. He doesn't want her to forget him or how it feels to be young and in love. Hence, the use of "forever young." And the line "start making plans, start making sense/ don't you believe any word they said" sounds like the outside world is telling her that she needs to grow up, but he's trying to tell her that they don't have to. That's how I want to take it, anyway, because I'm with Blink-182's "What's My Age Again?" philosophy that we don't HAVE to grow up completely if we don't want to.
