Many years ago (I am 48) I heard a radio DJ mention (before he played the song) that Little Willy was a stray cat that hung around the garage where the bandmembers first practiced. The garage was owned by parents of one of the band. The lyrics, in that context make sense. The Sweet sstarted out as a teeny bopper band with sweet, innocent songs. As they became famous and wealthy their songs were more jaded (read the ltrics to "Someone Else Will").
