I'll start off with some lyric suggestions, because I think they change the meaning of the song a little bit:

"I can't say I'd dump her" -> "I'd kiss and I'd dump her" "By casting my curse, you're the same" -> "My gift and my curse are the same" "You'd rather hear it from a friend" -> "You had to hear it from a friend"

"I promise/To give you eternity/To choose how/The fall, it would sound/Cos' you're insecure" -> "I promised to give you eternity, but you fell/Before they were selfish and insecure" *I'm not completely sure about the "they" in this one, it could mean his eyes, a pretty common theme in the song.

The song starts out with the singer having a conversation with his now deceased wife, possibly asking her if she died because she found out he was cheating on her.

Next he says he wishes he could rewind to before he and his lover cheated. He would have ended the affair at the first kiss.

At this point, he figures out that his actions have completely changed the future he invisioned. He blames his blue eyes, calling them his gift and curse -- They help him attract women, but they have now helped him start a secret relationship which eventually loses him his wife.

He reiterates the fact that he was cheating on her, sleeping in a bed not theirs. He couldn't even face her to tell her what he did, and now he'll never have the chance to apologize to her face.

At the end of the song, he seems to indicate his wife died from a fall. He then goes on to say how he used to be think only of himself, and now realized what he lost. He hopes she's happy in another life, because he broke her heart in this one.

Lastly, he describes his lies to cover the affair. She trusted him completely. Now his betrayal makes him feel like his words are strangling him. Because of them, he's responsible for losing the girl he loved.
