This song is awesome . .as for it's meaning, I think it's about being haunted & continually attacked by your demons . . facing the battles of life alone, in the process coming out with "scars" as a result of the experience. T
hey no longer want to suffer in this continual cycle of pain, (which is on of the many costs of living life) and they yearn for eternal peace.
