But also, considering some of these guys live in Rochester, NY, sometimes called the ROC, among other things, it might be a play on that, saying its basically another lonely night in Rochester, the Rock, but since a rock is a cold, hard place (so is rochester) it translates well into meaning just that. Also I think the story of the song is he saw a girl, probably before a show, and he also made a face at her, but she was surprised....also, he stayed up painting...but then it gets a little abstract
