If I remember correctly, the poem describes the streets being full of "yellow fog," reflected in the "turn the air yellow for hours" line.
The poem as a whole is about a man (J. Alfred Prufrock) who is unable to ask his love to marry him, basically because of the pressures of society. This might connect to the "Have you ever loved enough to destoy your love?" line.
I'm not exactly sure what that would mean for the song as a whole, but I definitely agree with JustPlainNJ about the Abraham/Isaac reference. Anybody got any ideas about how to unite all this stuff?
