This is, for me, probably my favorite song. I don't know why, though.

Over all, I think this song is about a love affair gone wrong. :9

anyway[time for the usual epic line-by-line approach, eh?]

North Star, bring luck.[wishing on a star, for luck. I imagine.]

Call the nurse, I'm dropping in anchor.[ Making stops at the pass.[this line I think could be talking about awkward flirting, a play on 'making a pass'] Caught in the mix of the two with an offer[perhaps caught in the middle of an affair/relationship, and is asked out by one of the two.] Left with three times the guilt.[I think this could be looking back in hindsight. Explained later in the epicness]

please don't decide to roll your eyes i'm speaking from my heart[I think this is talking about a nervous love confession.] she bought a book and now she's reading much more into things[Perhaps ‘she’ started to take greater notice of things when he made his confession. shrug] dear searched and found now little[Looked for the chemistry, but can’t find enough for it to work, but he still wants it to work.] hanging on your every word[listening to every word with a wary ear?] (purchased more than gained at will)[perhaps forced into bribery, rather than getting a reciprocation unaided?] please don't decide to roll your eyes i'm speaking from my heart

littles known of the heart breaking silence causing loss before peals[Perhaps the person he confessed to died before they could be married, like the peals of wedding bells?] jerking through the side winding admission[Feeling numb and trying to admit she’s gone?] and gathered berries in bed[getting into another affair. I believe the ‘gathered berries’ is a twist on the term ‘popping a cherry’??]

take it i left it[all yours now.] slipped and stored in vain[His veneer slipped, and he tried to store those memories away again?] held by the mischief[fascinated with the idea of keeping everybody in the dark about his true feelings.] with one still left to blame[Blamed everybody exept himself for something, or what happened.]

a flow, a flow in store.[possibly...he’s going to have to deal with it, and cries/sobs when he does, and it is inevitable?]

left with an angel until the sirens rang.[it was all a dream. ‘Sirens’ is probably a reference to the blare of an alarm clock.]

Well, here’s my explanation of “Left with three times the guilt”. I believe that he feels guiltier than he should, because he used some underhanded method to get what he wanted, and can’t take back what he did.
