ok i think i tried to over analyze this song. but now i think it's what i had in mind when i first listened to it.
so it's war and the main character's country is being bombed

self explanatory, but i think when he says "dropping down perfume" he is becoming a bit delusional, since that would make it something..desirable

so that's pretty self explanatory as well, why does the destruction have to be bad. now i go back and forth between the guy becoming delusional, or this just being an all around morbid song. a common theme in literature is destruction bringing new life, so maybe he sees beauty in the chaos.
